An Incomplete Recording of
the Adagio Cantabile
The level of performance heard in the video below is what I call "competent familiarity". This was recorded after two weeks of trying to clean up my ability to play with the expectation of it being heard. I recorded it with a nine dollar mic on an old laptop. Apparently, I cannot yet play it with an appropriate observance to tempo or dynamics. It is at this level that I realized that I can begin working on interpreting the piece as an artist.
At this level, I can play the Adagio Cantabile with great enjoyment and be quite content, given that I am not even a pianist. However, by continuing to look up to the highest standards, I can enrich my experiences beyond my competence.
This recording is only partial and done on poor equipment. When I reach the level of artistic interpretation, I will record the full movement on better equipment.
