SHADOW WATCHER

A man said, “We cannot know the full goodness of life until we die and go to heaven.  The Bible says, ‘Now we vaguely see through a dark mirror, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know completely’.”

The Gadfly said, “There was a man who lived in a cave.  The sunlight would make its way into the cave.  And the man liked to watch the shadows, which the trees and occasional passing animals would cast upon the walls.  But a woman said to him, ‘Why are you finding such amusement in shadows?  Turn around and see the reality and truth behind the shadows you are so focused upon.’  And the shadow watcher did just that.  But he did not have to travel to the heavens in order to see this truth.  He just had to step outside of his cave.”
