SACRED PIECES

A minister said, “Our brokenness and pain are a sign of the sinfulness of our lives.

The Gadfly said, “Broken hearts are bigger than unbroken hearts.  And crushed souls can pass through the smallest places, which even defy the mouse.  A shattered vessel spills water which returns to become one with the ocean, and a broken heart pours itself out to God.  When you are broken and in pain, you are not a sinner.  For when the young chick breaks its own egg and stumbles around in the light of day, it is not the defaming of holiness.  It is the birthing of the miracle of life.  If your young soul breaks its own heart that which once shielded and clothed you in safety shall fall in pieces before you.  And when your naked being stumbles around in the midst of life, the Divine shall not mock your awkwardness.  Rather, you shall be embraced and kissed as a treasure of the Universe.  For even in the midst of the breaking and the awkwardness, you are as innocent and inoffensive to God as a newborn chick.
